Commence your dive at a depth of approximately 30 feet (15 meters) and gradually descend along the slope until you reach around 45 feet (14 meters), where a sheer wall plunges into the abyss for thousands of feet. Along this wall, at a depth of about 70 feet (21 meters), numerous crevices provide a protective haven for various marine creatures. Keep an eye out for spiny lobsters, elusive green moray eels, spider crabs, and graceful hawksbill turtles seeking refuge. The vibrant Caribbean reef fish adorn the top and sides of the wall, while occasionally, in the open blue water, you may catch glimpses of pelagic species like king mackerel, wahoo, and smaller tuna.

Lionfish Hunting

Lionfish hunting has become a crucial conservation strategy in Belize and the wider Caribbean to control the invasive lionfish population, which threatens native marine ecosystems. Divers and local communities actively participate in lionfish hunting initiatives, targeting these venomous predators with specialized gear to minimize harm to themselves and the environment. The harvested lionfish are often turned into delicious dishes, jewelry, promoting sustainable fishing practices and helping to protect the region's delicate marine balance.
