Dive Site: Half Moon Wall
Location: South Half Moon Caye, Lighthouse Atoll
Depth: 30 to 120 feet/9 to 36 meters

Half Moon Wall stands as one of Belize's most renowned dive sites, capturing the essence of underwater beauty. This extraordinary wall commences at depths of 20 to 30 feet, revealing a breathtaking landscape of deep gullies, enticing swim-throughs, dramatic overhangs, and an astonishing profusion of gorgonians, sponges, and resilient hard corals. Exceptional visibility often graces this site, offering the chance to spot mantas, eagle rays, sharks, and various pelagic species as they gracefully navigate the wall. Ascend to the top of the wall, where a vibrant community of reef fish thrives, and continue onward to the sandy area above the reef, where southern rays, hogfish, and other species forage for their daily sustenance. A little further along, discover a mesmerizing colony of garden eels, swaying gently in the sea grass until your approach prompts them to retract below the sandy seabed.

​Long Caye boasts over a dozen exceptional dive sites, each carefully chosen based on prevailing currents and weather conditions. As expected in Belize's vibrant underwater world, visibility often dazzles, creating the perfect backdrop for encounters with a diverse array of marine life. These encounters may include an abundance of reef fish, such as angelfish, trumpet fish, filefish, chub, grunts, snappers, wrasses, butterfly fish, and pufferfish. Additionally, barracudas, turtles, jacks, sharks, rays, groupers, lobsters, eels, and squid can be spotted, along with smaller wonders like nudibranches and various shrimp species frequenting cleaner stations. Amidst this underwater spectacle, you'll be surrounded by a stunning tapestry of hard and soft corals, colorful gorgonians, and sponges in a myriad of shapes and hues.
