Environment Projects

Splash Dive Center is committed to holistic environmental conservation. In addition to their Placencia Peninsula Beach Clean-Ups, Laughing Bird Caye Clean-Up, and the promotion of reusable cups and bags, we also take an active role in educating children from local communities about the vital importance of preserving the reef ecosystem. Through these educational programs, we not only contributes to the protection of the environment but also fosters a sense of responsibility and awareness among the younger generation, ensuring a sustainable future.

Placencia Peninsula Beach Clean Up

During the challenging times of the pandemic, our commitment to our employees' well-being and our dedication to environmental preservation led us to take a proactive approach. To support our staff and their livelihoods, we initiated a weekly initiative where we organized clean-up efforts along the beautiful Placencia Peninsula beaches. For three hours every week, our dedicated team, along with the help of ten enthusiastic volunteers, came together to remove litter and debris from these picturesque shores. This not only provided our employees with a means to survive during the pandemic but also allowed us to contribute to the upkeep of the local environment. It was a true testament to the strength of community and the importance of collective action during challenging times.

Laughing Bird Caye Reef Week Clean Up

The Laughing Bird Reef Week Clean Up, a longstanding tradition spanning 20 years, has become a beacon of community involvement and environmental stewardship. This event annually assembles a dedicated team of 200 volunteers, including local children and their chaperones, who gather to clean north side Laughing Bird Caye. Beyond the cleanup efforts, it serves as a valuable platform for educating the younger generation about the crucial role the reef plays in our planet's health, fostering a deeper understanding of its significance for the future. The Laughing Bird Reef Week Clean Up provides a rare chance for the public to access the entire island, an opportunity extended solely on this particular day annually. This exclusive access is granted with the utmost consideration for the island's resident bird population, ensuring minimal disruption to their habitat while still allowing people to appreciate the island's unique ecological significance.

Reusable Cups, Reusable Bags

Splash Dive Center is committed to environmental sustainability. We believe that every small step towards reducing single-use plastics makes a significant impact. That's why we actively promote the adoption of reusable cups and tote bags among our guests and staff to minimize plastic waste and protect the marine ecosystems we cherish.

Global warming is taking a toll on the Belize Barrier Reef, causing coral bleaching and increased ocean temperatures that threaten its delicate ecosystem. Splash Dive Center recognizes the urgent need for action and is committed to collaborating in a coral restoration project to help mitigate these impacts. By actively participating in reef rehabilitation efforts, Splash aims to preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the Belize Barrier Reef for future generations to explore and enjoy.
