GLOVERS REEF
Glover's Reef, the southernmost among Belize's trio of atolls, is located about 40 nautical miles north-east of Placencia, an enjoyable journey that takes two hours by boat. The voyage is undoubtedly a worthwhile adventure, as it leads to some of the finest scuba diving experiences in the Western Caribbean, creating ideal conditions for the most enjoyable fun dive trips we offer. Spanning 15 miles in length and 4 miles in width, Glover's Atoll boasts an oval-shaped reef system. Along its eastern side, where most of the diving occurs, lie five islands, predominantly housing intimate diving and fishing resorts. The surrounding pristine waters, adorned with unique coral formations and teeming with abundant marine life, position Glover's Reef as a favored destination for divers seeking the very best Belize has to offer. This remarkable site is not only designated as one of UNESCO's world heritage sites but also stands as a marine reserve featuring carefully designated no-take and conservation zones, underscoring its commitment to preserving its natural wonders.

The Aquarium
Location: East of Middle Caye
Depth: 30-100 feet/10-30mt
Access: Boat ride is 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes from Placencia.

Beneath the pristine, crystal-clear waters, this dive site resembles an underwater oasis, akin to exploring a vast aquarium teeming with marine life. To maximize our chances of witnessing the vibrant activity, we schedule dives during the early morning or late afternoon. Notably, this site is renowned for its impressive gatherings of yellowtail snappers and creole wrasse, which can be observed either suspended in mid-water or gracefully navigating the wall, often visiting cleaning stations. Along the wall's edge, you'll also encounter playful schools of horse-eye jacks and black durgons. Additionally, it's not uncommon to spot delightful dolphins and graceful turtles during your dive, adding to the enchantment of this underwater paradise.

Off The Wall
Location: East of Southwest Caye
Depth: 25-100 feet/8-30mt
Access: Boat
Expertise Rating: Intermediate
The dramatic underwater terrain of this site commences at a depth of 25 feet/8 meters before plunging sharply into the Barlet Deep, an astonishing trench that reaches an incredible 6000 feet/1800 meters, marking the deepest trench in the Caribbean. Thanks to the prevailing mild currents and gentle wave action, this location consistently teems with marine life feasting on the nutrients brought by the ocean currents. With exceptional visibility often exceeding 100 feet/30 meters, this dive promises a truly spectacular underwater experience. Divers can expect to encounter a diverse array of critters, including Nassau groupers, lobsters, majestic eagle rays, and various species of imposing snappers. During the months of December to February, lucky divers may even have the chance to witness the graceful presence of giant manta rays gliding near the water's surface.

Manta Wall
Location: South of Southwest Caye
Depth: 35-90 feet/11-27mt

Named after the nearby island resort, this dive site is characterized by its captivating underwater landscape. The dive adventure commences in a sandy expanse before leading southward towards a colossal stony coral wall. Here, the magnificent presence of Great star corals, boulder star corals, and mound corals forms intricate swim-throughs, providing sanctuary to nurse sharks and massive groupers. Amongst this vibrant ecosystem, you'll encounter an abundance of smaller tropical reef fish darting through the corals. Additionally, the sandy areas surrounding this site serve as a habitat for fascinating creatures such as Queen conch, trumpet conch, and the king helmet conch, which can be spotted either crawling or concealed in the sandy substrate.

Pinnacles
Location: South west corner of Glovers Atoll
Depth: 25-100 feet/8-30mt

The Pinnacle stands as a captivating dive site that offers a refreshing change from the typical wall and canyon formations. Enormous pinnacles, beginning at around 100 feet/30 meters deep, gracefully ascend to within 25 feet/8 meters of the water's surface. These striking formations are adorned with a rich tapestry of sponges, plate corals, and exquisite gorgonians, creating a visually stunning underwater landscape. Nestled between the pinnacles are deep sand channels where you can spot hog snappers and schoolmasters going about their underwater routines. Keep an eye out for pelagic wonders like reef sharks, mackerel, tarpons, and barracudas gracefully gliding through this underwater realm. Exploring this dive involves swimming around and even venturing through a few of these magnificent pinnacles, adding a sense of adventure to the experience.
Grouper Aggregation Site​
Glover's Reef in Belize is renowned for its spectacular grouper aggregation site, where massive gatherings of these majestic fish occur annually. Divers are treated to an awe-inspiring spectacle as hundreds of groupers, including the charismatic Nassau grouper, come together to spawn. The sight of these elegant creatures amidst the vibrant coral formations of Glover's Reef is a true testament to the beauty and biodiversity of Belize's marine environment.
